The Intermediate Team is comprised of individuals who have limited climbing expericne and are interested in taking climbing to the next level.  They need to have basic knowledge of top roping and bouldering, as well as have the ability to effectively use their feet to position their body while climbing.  Climbers need their own equipment.

This entry level class is great for all levels of climbers without belaying experience. Includes all necessary equipment and will cover:

• Climbing Safety & Verbal Commands
• Rope and Harness Safety
• Overview of Belay Devices including Gri Gri's and ATC's
• Knot Tying & Belaying

The overall goal of our Kids Classes is to develop climbing skills, abilities, and confidence in order to advance toward our competitive Youth Climbing Team program. 

Our Kids classes are six weeks in length (with one makeup class) and follow a structured curriculum where climbers are assessed and accumulate points in five different areas:

Knowledge, Technique, Physical, Rope, and Boulder

In addition to learning knots and belay mechanics, beginner and intermediate climbers will begin to learn more in-depth skills and techniques.

• - Accumulate enough total points in that Level 2 session
• - Demonstrate an interest in furthering their skills

How does it work?

Reserve a specialized two-hour Vertical Life time slot on either Saturday OR Sunday (link provided upon registration)

Between you and your partner, climb your three most difficult routes out of our brand new set of 30 competition routes! 

Use our digital scorecard to record your climbs

Only one team member must redpoint (climb with no falls) a route to count it, but each of you must complete at least one of the team's three final climbs

You may score ONE climb, ONE grade outside of your skill category (ex. a team registered as Intermediate may complete ONE 5.12) 

Climbing two or more routes one grade outside of your category OR one route, two grades outside of your category will move you up

Prizes for the winners of each of the three skill level categories (Beginner 5.8-5.9, Intermediate 5.10-5.11, and Advanced 5.12-5.13)
